Ok folks. I have recently started putting together a page on wikipedia about Aquarium Clubs & Society's. Now I am not a writer by any meaning of the word so I need your help. Check it out & give me any constructive criticism regarding what is said on the page. I also have added a world wide directory of Aquarium Clubs that I hope will grow over time. I have pretty much all the Canadian ones in there but just haven't had time to link to all the websites yet. Too tired from typing LOL. I am sure at least some of the contact info is outdated for the clubs so if you know how please fix it if not just shoot me a msg with the correct info.I am hoping this will help to increase traffic to all local clubs websites. Which hopefully intern will attract new members.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aquarium_Fish_clubsLet me know what you think.

New Club for New England Cichlid Keepers

Being a cichlid lover for a number of years now, I've spent a great deal of time sharing my passion on the internet. I co-own the site http://www.fishaholics.org and have shared my experiences, triumphs and failures on many other forums online. Although there are many great clubs in the New England area, I couldn't find one that dealt strictly with cichlids.
I am starting a club for those of us in New England interested in keeping cichlids. I'm based in Northern Connecticut, but didn't want to limit membership only to the CT area. I'm calling the club the New England Cichlid Association. I've started a forum to get ideas rolling around and to start gathering a membership base at http://www.necichlids.org/board/.We will most likely have to start off small, holding meetings at each others houses, until we grow in size, large enough to establish a central meeting place. I'd like to get the club affiliated with the ACA (American Cichlid Association) and be part of the NEC. I've already joined the Club Liason's Program the ACA runs. one of the drives for starting a cichlids only club is being able to hold auctions where we can sell and buy cichlids, without having to wait through numerous sales of things that may not interest us. I'd also love to be able to host the annual ACA convention someplace in Southern New England in the future. If you love cichlids and are interested in getting in on the ground level of a new club, check out the link above. You can post on the forum or PM me. We're looking forward to seeing you and sharing knowledge.Tim

The creation of the C.A.R.E.S. (Conservation, Awareness & Recognition, Endangered Species) Preservation Program is based on the critical and timely significance of Conservation, our Awareness, as hobbyists, of the issues involved, and the Recognition of members for their role in ensuring a positive future for Endangered Species. The purpose of the program is to place endangered species into the tanks of hobbyists across the globe, while forming an information network between aquarists, scientists and conservationists. The program may be implemented by societies, educational institutions, and individuals, as all are encouraged and welcome to participate.Click "READ MORE" to view the entire article

A new aquatic website for old aquarists?

Hello to all from the U.K.(Based here but worldwide)
We are just setting up a rather unique aquatic online archive site and need all the help we can get from all of the aquarists of yesteryear.
Aquarists Re-united does exactly what it says in the title . It's a free-to-use service to reunite all long lost "fishy" friends wherver they are now. It also archives all data on closed and defunct aquatic clubs and groups - so you see everyones help is needed-especially the old-timers, and I count myself in this category having been a fishkeeper for 40+ years.
So visit the site at http://www.aquaristsreunited.fslife.co.uk and see what you think you can help us with - Brickbats to the webmaster-that's me.
